Bumoragoth - Greater Zaghast
Colonel Cray: Fighting the Bumoragoth is like trying to eat a bowl of Martian Puff cereal without milk. It will cut you no matter how hard you try. The Bumoragoth is a slow but very strong, resilient Zaghast. With its thick craggy skin it is capable of taking severe punishment without flinching or even being aware. If the Bumoragoth is engaged by itself, it will often continue moving, unaware that it has been attacked by small arms fire. Once engaged, the Bumoragoth will try to carve and crush into its enemies with its razor sharp, rock-like scythes, hitting multiple enemies with every swing. When it has successfully killed its prey, it will often stomp through their bloody remains to chase a new quarry, splattering its now dead victim over nearby walls. The Bumoragoth is an oddity of sorts, as its Mutation Strain is highly unusual among the Zaghast. It is thought to have mutated in the cavernous depths of Mars, absorbing the properties of its environmental surroundings. This has led to a very unique hybrid among the Zaghast, yet no less deadly. Regardless, watch yourselves when combatting this ugly “oddity”.
This is for my 32mm miniature board game Hell Rangers. All 2d/3d work done by myself.
Humanity has colonized the depths of Mars in order to harvest minerals, expand their presence on Mars and ship much needed resources back to earth. Humanity has managed to terraform Mars, making it habitable without needing special suits to traverse Mars' atmosphere. As a result Mars transforms from a harsh cold climate to a humid greenhouse climate. This stirs up and ancient alien/mutant race which in turn becomes very active, seeking to kill and infect/mutate millions of colonists. The colonies stand up a paramilitary force known as Ranger command. The Rangers constantly take the fight to the Zagahst, keeping the colonists safe and keeping Mars from being overun.
The game has a Quake 1/Doom vibe, fighting demons on a post apocalyptic earth. Sculpted in Sculptris and 3d Coat. Painted and rendered in 3d Coat. Background and additional effects Photoshop.
